Definition of the Institution

UNIVAQ counts at today 22.000 students, 644 teachers-researchers, 504 administrative and technical staff. After the National Reform of Higher Education Sector, the 9 Faculties were transformed in 7 Departments which, besides research, provide Bachelor, Master and PhD Programmes in the areas Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Humanities, Psychology, Economics, Educational Sciences, Sport Sciences, Biotechnologies. Research is developed in the Departments and in 2 Excellence Centres of Research (CETEMPS, DEWS), 3 interdepartmental Research Centres known worldwide . UNIVAQ considers the international cooperation fundamental for the full participation in the EHEA and ERA. The policy aiming to become a reference point for a globalised knowledge world for higher education and research allowed the cooperation with Universities from EU and Third Countries. The centralised “International Project Office” supports academic staff in preparing and managing projects and disseminates results and experiences to the University bodies. UNIVAQ implemented several international projects in the fields of education, research and cooperation and is currently managing (as coordinator or partner) several Horizon2020, CBHE projects and agreements with institutions from all over the world. Quality of degree courses in all the fields, both Humanities and Technology represents a key part of research and teaching and a fundamental issue of public debate in the ongoing reconstruction of the town of L’Aquila after the earthquake of 2009. In this context, UNIVAQ is implementing its role of Civic University by working in strict cooperation with all the key actors of the territory, including the main cultural institutions of the Region

The role of the partner in the MUSAE project

UNIVAQ will contribute to the implementation of all project activities, by providing support to Partner Country Institutions in the preparatory phase, by hosting one of the retraining sessions addressed to PC teachers and by hosting one of the mobility of PC students in Europe. According to its experience as Civic University, UNIVAQ will promote the building of a constructive debate and network among partner universities and local cultural organizations in the targeted countries Tunisia, Palestine and Uzbekistan. UNIVAQ will bring into the project its long lasting experience in the designing of new education paths as well in the updating of existing courses, according to the European guidelines for the Higher Education Quality assurance. UNIVAQ will therefore lead the Quality Control and Monitoring activity (WP5) by preparing the General Plan for the internal Monitoring and Quality Assessment of project activities and results. This Plan includes reporting scheduling, reports’ format, partners’ and managers’ responsibility, methods and tools. Internal quality control will be performed by each partner under the coordination of the UNIVAQ and each SC member.
